about
This song is about Humanity and it's insufferable nature to feel like it is more privileged than other things on this planet. We hate each other and fight each other over such petty things.
We think we are the most important thing in the universe because our hideous nature tells us so. I think the whole point is to continue moving forward. But instead we have terrible people that want things to stay the same forever, so that a select few humans get the most out of life and all the rest don't get a chance.
This song creates a hypothetical (inevitable) situation in which our planet no longer has creatures upon it, and when you think about it in that way, you end up seeing a much bigger picture. Are we going to be the species to cause this demise of our planet?
We are selfish and a lot of the time horrible creatures. I think it should be up to us to try and overcome that, or not. Who knows? Everybody's wrong and I'm completely and utterly insane.
lyrics
On this earth we are not needed
On this earth resources depleted
On this earth A martian land
On this earth no more plans so...
On this earth no more dreams
On this earth cracks and steam
On this earth we will be gone
On this earth. This Earth moves on
but on this earth minds are strong
and on this earth everybody's wrong
on this earth ain't got much time
on this earth human demise
On this earth days go by
On this earth we don't know why
On this earth people try
On this earth we all die
We are not needed here
Don't feel so special my dear
